Louvre [Paris Part One]

I can't remember what day we went to the Louvre, but I know that I took sooo many pictures of it- inside and outside.

 Sculptures

Ahh, I really love these sculptures. Everything is so realistic and perfectly crafted, it's kind of unbelievable because a lot of these sculptures were made a loooong time ago. People back during those times were so talented and passionate about their craft. They also had to have a lot of patience to be able to sculpt all of these amazing statues.

18.3.15

(Long post because I had a good dayyyy)

Another day at school! I didn't post anything yesterday because I didn't do much and school ended at 5 PM! I was soooo tired, lol, but at least we had a 2 hour long lunch break. I also learned a bit of Spanish, since Maelle takes Spanish as well as English and Greek (in France, you're required to take another language with English)

Today, school ended at noon (praise da lord) and we went to the city for lunch! We took the bus and I bumped into so many people because the bus kept stopping every two seconds. I met more of Maelle's friends and an exchange student from Argentina. She doesn't speak that much French or English so we had an interesting time talking with each other, haha. She kept telling me, "I like English" even though she doesn't speak it that well. Lol, but at least I was able to get the gist of what she was saying (: She said that she'll be going to the United States for school too, somewhere up north I think.

Anyway, to lunch, because I had so much fun during lunch. We went to this super cute cafe that sold everything from sandwiches to fries (which I got).

After we got our food, we sat on a stoop and ate and talked about long words and how many languages that we each know and boys. You know, the usual. Haha, after that, we walked around the city. I wanted to take pictures of everything that I saw because the architecture of all the buildings was incredible to me. I really love old buildings because I feel like they have more personality and history compared to tall, glass skyscrapers.

We don't have a lot of old buildings with awesome shutters in North Carolina too, so that's probably another reason why I'm obsessed with the buildings in Montauban, haha.

Most of the buildings in Montauban are very old and made of brick. It makes everything so pretty and vivid, haha.

This place is called French Coffee Shop
I'm also known as "Americano" to one of the Irish exchange students, lol.

16.3.15

(No pictures today, sorry)

Buttt, it was my first day of school! MaĆ«lle, my French sister, told me the day before that we would have THREE hours of math! I was so shocked when she told me that and then we got to school and one of her friends told her that we were actually having FOUR- no, this is not a typo- hours of math.

Math is already my worst subject, and adding French into the equation makes everything sound more scary, haha.

But we had lunch in the middle for an hour, so it didn't feel that long. I also met two Irish exchange students who had lunch with us. Lol, they were something...

Anyway, I learned that French kids my age are pretty... blunt. Haha some o f the things that they said made me laugh and raise my eyebrows. All of my classmates were super nice and friendly too! The question that I was asked the most was, "Do you like One Direction?" Haha and when I would say no, everyone would give me a high-five. Lol.

Maelle has a friend who does Taekwondo like me so she said I could go to her TKD school next week! I'm so excited ((:

TOULOUSE!

Awesome church!

Today, my French family took me to Toulouse. It was amazing even though it was raining and freezing the entire time lol. I learned about French culture and the past as we walked around the city's Capitol. There were so many old buildings that dated back to the 1500's- maybe even past that. It was soooo amazing (lol that's the only word that I can use to describe).

Tomorrow is my first day of French school (: wish me luck!

13.3.15 - 14.3.15

made it to France!

The pictures above are of the sun rising in London. It was really pretty, though I only got to see a little bit of it since I woke up late on the plane, haha. The group and I were in Heathrow for a long time and when we got to Toulouse, our families were there to pick us up! Everything was surreal, I still can't believe that I am in France. My family is very nice and cool, I like them all.

My goals for the next three weeks:
• speak more French
• speak more French
• have fun
• speak more French
• do my school work
• did I mention that I need to speak more French?
